3 new Centre records were set at our meet on Saturday morning. The weather was ideal for athletics, with calm conditions and mild temperatures. The distance hurdles were the first events on the track. Tamara Henry broke her previous Under 14 200m hurdles, record running a new time of 33.01 seconds. In the Under 13 boys 200m hurdles, Jonas Cukavac had a close race with defending record holder Lincoln Braszell. The boys ran neck and neck for the majority of the race, but it was Jonas who pulled away over the final flight of hurdles to claim a new record time of 32.31 seconds. In the field, Luatangi Haunga continues to improve and this week added over 2 metres to his previous Under 11 Discus record with a new distance of 33.39 metres.
Xavier Goodman is this week’s PB Star of the Week recording 5PB’s for the meet.
