The Community Bank Bacchus Marsh Gift was held at Masons Lane Reserve on Saturday 14th March, one of the highlights on our season calendar. With athletes and families lining the straight to watch the action, the atmosphere was electric and the racing certainly lived up to expectations.
The boys race was fiercely contested, with athletes charging down the straight in a thrilling finish. In the end it was Liam Way (U13) who powered through to take the win. Harrison Lovett (U14) ran strongly to claim second place, while Caleb Burns (U9) produced an outstanding performance to finish third against older competition.
The girls race produced one of the most remarkable finishes we have seen in the history of the event. In an incredibly tight sprint to the line, Tara Singh (U11), Chanelle Cachia (U16) and Arizona Hutchison (U10) could not be separated, crossing the finish line together in what will go down as the closest finish of all time. Mia Di Mieri (U13) followed closely behind to finish second, with Millicent Johansen (U9) rounding out the placings in third.
