The BMLAC Cross Country Open Day was held at Bullengarook Recreation Reserve on Saturday and was another successful event for the Centre.   We welcomed visiting athletes from Altona, Ballarat, Essendon, Gisborne, Mentone and Werribee Centres and all were outstanding representatives for their individual Centres.

All races commenced on the Reserve oval before heading out into the bushlands, prior to finishing back on the oval.  Events were held for athletes in the Under 6  age group through to the Under 16’s.  Adult races were also conducted for the parents, with the men competing over a 3000 metre distance and the women 1500 metres.

Thank you also to everyone who helped out, either as rabbits, course marshals, recorders, starter marshals or in the canteen – your help was much appreciated.   Special thanks to our raffle donors – The Dry Aged Meat Company, Jonesy Fruit and Veg, Melbourne Country Club and the Downes Family.

Congratulations to the Gisborne Little Athletics Centre who won the BMLAC Perpetual Trophy.
