The Centre held their annual Combined Event program on Saturday.  All athletes competed in 5 events (hurdles, sprint, distance, discus and long jump) gaining points in each event.  Presentations will be held this Friday at the Centre Twilight meet where trophies will be presented to age winners and medals to second and third placegetters.  All participants will receive a certificate of participation with their results.

Captain, Sam White broke two Under 17 Centre records during competition, reducing times in both the 800 metres and the 110m hurdles.

Zachary Mizzi and Harvey Whitney were awarded the Darley Bakehouse PB Stars of the Week awards for gaining PB’s in all their 5 events.

There will be no Centre training this Thursday as relay athletes will be participating in a full squad training session at Melton.

Next week’s competition will be a Twilight Meet to be held on Friday commencing at 5pm.  The meet will also be Coles Community Round where athletes and families are encouraged to wear Coles related dress or just something red to win 1 of 10 Coles vouchers. This is a great way to celebrate Little Athletics Victoria’s partnership and provide the kids with something slightly different to the normal weekly program.

On Saturday the Centre will have 50 teams represented at the Western Metro Region Relay Carnival to be held in Melton.  61 athletes will compete in relays vying to qualify for the State Relay Championships to be held in December.
