Saturday morning competition at Masons Lane Reserve saw the Centre participate in the Coles Community Round.  This was a Nation wide round as part of the Gold Partnership with Little Athletics Australia and Coles.

Athletes were encouraged to dress up in red and awards were presented to the best dressed athletes, while a number of parents and spectators also got involved in the celebrations.

Two new Centre records were set for the meet.  Nelson Banigo continued his dominance on the track with an explosive 200m race, setting a new Under 12 Centre record of 26.96 seconds.  Meanwhile in the field, Bridie Shanahan bettered her own previous Under 15 Javelin record set earlier in the season, with a new record distance of 29.68m.

This week the Centre will conduct a twilight meet on Friday commencing at 5pm due to the rescheduled Region Track & Field Carnival being held on Saturday and Sunday.  The carnival will be held at Newport Athletics Track, Williamstown.
