This week’s Cross Country meet was held at Egan’s Reserve, Greendale. Our attendance numbers were unfortunately down, possibly due to the miserable conditions forecast for the weekend.
Jax Coulton was a sole runner in the Under 6’s event, but put in a brave performance completing the 500m course in 2.41 minutes. The Under 7 & 8 athletes contested the 1000m course which incorporated a long up hill, mid course. Deegan Doyle was the stand out performer over the distance while Imogen Lidgett Egan was a narrow 1 second winner over Maya Estlick for the girls. Mackenzie Estlick and Spencer Wood were the winners over the 1500m distance which consisted of a 500m loop followed by the 1000m course. The Under 11 & 12 athletes tackled the 2000m distance. A welcome return from injury for Xavier Goodman saw him cross the finish line in first place followed by Mitchell Wells and Nate Sadhai. Freya Lidgett Egan was the first girl across the line. The Open age athletes completed 3 laps of the 1000m course with Jack Mutsaerts the first boy home and Bridget Henthorn the first girl home.
Well done to August Wood, Kalen Kucera, Deegan Doyle, Spencer Wood, Regan Sabo, Tyrah Doyle, Mitch Well, James Burton, Braden Rich, Xavier Goodman and Kayla Downes – all recording PB’s this week.
