Cross Country was held at Greendale Reserve on Saturday morning.   After a very chilly night, our athletes were greeted with a heavy frost across the reserve grounds.  Fortunately, the sun broke through the clouds and it quickly warmed up for the runners.

In the Under 6 500 metre event, August Wood was the first girl across the line while Braxton Dart was our winner in the boys category.   The Under 7 & 8’s competed over a 1000 metre course; Aisha Lidgett-Egan and Nicholas Mai were the Under 7 winners while Kai Cunningham and Ava Cook claimed victory for the Under 8’s.  The Under 9 &10 athletes contested the 1500 metres distance with  Under 10 athletes Freya Lidgett-Egan and Mitchell Wells overall winners.  In the Under 11 & 12 2000 metres event,  less than 1 second separated Xavier Goodman (Under 12)  and Elise Cook (Under 11).   The Open Age 3000 metres was a hotly contested race with Riley Dart narrowly edging out Jack Mutsaerts.  Evana Miesen was the fastest female runner.
