This week’s Cross Country meet was held in the grounds of the YMCA Lady Northcote Recreation Camp in Rowsley.

In the Under 6 500 metre race, Myah Estlick crossed the line in first place.  In the Under 7 & 8 combined 1000 metres event, Kai Cunningham, Nicholas Ide and Deegan Doyle had a great tussle over the distance to take the first 3 places while Sarah Burton was the clear female winner.  The Under 9 & 10 athletes competed over a 1500 metre distance with Mitchell Wells and Freya Lidgett-Egan eventual winners.  The 2000 metres was contested by the Under 11 & 12 athletes.  Under 11 athlete, Elise Cook dominated the race and was a convincing winner.  In the Open Age 3000 metres event, Jack Mutsaerts lead from start to finish while Rachel Jackson lead the way for the girls and crossed the line almost 2 mins ahead of her rivals.

Next Saturday, the following athletes will represent Bacchus Marsh LAC at the State Cross Country Championships: Kirsty Bresnan, Ava Conroy, Elise Cook, Tyrah Doyle, Taylor Farrugia, Lachlan Goodman, Xavier Goodman, Tamara Henry, Freya Lidgett-Egan, Solomon Miesen, Ben Peterson, Bradyn Rich, Daen Sadhai, Kira Watts,  Mitchell Wells and Rebecca West.  The Championships will take place at Cruden Farm, Langwarrin.
