This week’s Centre Cross Country meet was held at Lady Northcote Camp, Rowsley. Conditions were perfect and attendance numbers were good. The Open age athletes commenced competition running around the surrounds of the camp resort completing a total distance of 3km. Jack Mutsaerts once again lead from start to finish. The Under 11 and 12 athletes were next up and Taylor Farrugia was the stand out performer over the 2km distance. In the Under 9 & 10 event Torin Davidson held a narrow lead over Mitchell Wells at the half way mark, but Torrin opened up the margin in the final 500 metres, taking line honours and claiming the win for the Under 9’s while Mitchell, second across the line, was the Under 10 eventual winner. Nicholas Ide and Kai Cunningham had a close tussle over the 1km event for the Under 7 & 8 athletes, with Kai taking a narrow win in this event. Over the Under 6 500m event, it was August Wood who crossed the line in first place.
Next week’s meet will be held at Lake Dewar, Myrniong.
Athletes are reminded that entries close for the Bacchus Marsh Cross Country meet on Monday 22 May. This event will be held on Saturday 27 May at Bullengarook Reserve and is open to all little athletes from across the State. Entries Forms HERE.
