Athletes tackled the tough cold and windy conditions at Lake Dewar, Myrniong on Saturday morning for the Centre weekly Cross Country meet.

Imogen Borg recorded a PB performance to win the Under 6 500m race.  Myah Estlick was the overall winner of the Under 7/8 1000m event with Mathilde Grant in 2nd place and Gemma Lee next over the finish line to claim 3rd place.  Deegan Doyle took out the victory in the combined Under 9/10 1500m with a convincing win over the remainder of the field.  Imogen Lidgett-Egan was first girl home with Troy Lee taking out the minor placings.  The Under 11 and 12 athletes contested the 2km course with Mackenzie Estlick cruising to a dominant victory while Anna Seymour and Hannah Lee had a close battle with Anna crossing the finish line 3 seconds ahead of Hannah in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.   The 3000m course was contested by the Open age athletes with Elise Cook controlling the race from start to finish, keeping her unbeaten record intact.

This week’s Cross Country meet will be held at Lady Northcote Camp, Rowsley.  As we near the end of our Cross Country season, athletes are reminded they must attend half of the available home meets to be eligible for end of season presentation awards.
