Athletes met at Myrniong Recreation Reserve on Saturday morning for this week’s Cross Country meet.
The Under 6 completed one lap of a 500-metre course. Harry Johansen crossed the finish line in first place followed by Lucy Wise in 2nd and Imogen Borg claiming 3rd place for the event.
In the combined Under 7 & 8 1km course spectators witnessed Myah Estlick claim the win, closely followed by Iyla Robinson, with Mathilde Grant in 3rd. James White was the first boy home and 4th overall.
A small field of Under 9 & 10 athletes competed over 1500 metres. In a comfortable victory, Nicholas Ide notched up another win for the season with Deegan Doyle in 2nd place, 1st Under 9 athlete, and Imogen Lidgett-Egan back in 3rd place in a PB time of 7.00.25mins.
The Under 11 & 12 athletes ran 2 laps of the 1km course and Samuel White continued his winning form from last week with a convincing win. Another consistent run from Mackenzie Estlick saw her cross the finish line in 2nd place with Oliver Carr rounding out the minor placings. Anna Seymour continues to improve, and this week ran a PB time for 4th place overall.
Elise Cook continued her winning from over the 3km distance with another win while Danielle Ide finished in 2nd place. Another PB from Tyrah Doyle saw her across the finish line in 3rd place.
Next week Bacchus Marsh athletes will travel to Benalla to compete in their Annual Cross Country Open Day. Athletes will walk the course at 10am with the first event to commence at 10.30am.
