This week our runners returned to Myrniong Reserve for their weekly Cross Country meet.  In extremely windy conditions athletes were put to the test as they battled around a modified course of 500 metre loops.  Myah Estlick was the overall winner in the Under 6 500 metres.  In the Under 7 & 8 combined 1000 metres, Nicholas Ide was a convincing winner, while Sarah Burton claimed a narrow victory in the girls event over Imogen Lidgett-Egan.  The Under 9 & 10 athletes competed over the 1500 metre distance with Mitchell Wells and Freya Lidgett-Egan eventual winners.  In the Under 11 & 12 2000 metre event, Xavier Goodman and Zane Rich had a close contest with Xavier claiming victory.  In the Open age 3000 metres, once again Jack Mutsaerts and Riley Dart pushed each other all the way with Jack pipping Riley on the finish line.  Evana Miesen was the best runner for the girls.

Next Saturday’s Cross Country meet will be held at Bostock Reservoir, Ballan.
