After an early change of venue due to Rupert Vance Moon being closed due to agriculture practices, we gathered at Peppertree Park for this week’s Centre Cross Country meet.

Unfortunately, the weather was extremely unkind as our athletes competed in driving rain and freezing cold winds – not ideal conditions at all.

In the Under 6 500m event Lucy Wise was declared the winner from Imogen Borg.   The Under 7 and 8 athletes competed over a 1km distance with Lenny Closter first across the finish line followed by Myah Estlick, Gemma Lee and Lillian Roberts. In the Under 9 and 10 1500m event Nick Ide continued his winning form with another victory while Deegan Doyle was first Under 9 athlete home. Mackenzie Estlick was the winner in the combined Under 11/12 2km event while Oliver Carr, the first boy home, was 2nd overall with Emma Stewart claiming a top 3 finishing position. In the 3km open age event Elise Cook took line honours with Danielle Ide in 2nd place and Tyrah Doyle crossing the finish line next in 3rd place.

Due to a majority of families away on holidays, next week’s Cross Country meet has been cancelled.
