This week Bacchus Marsh Little Aths had athletes compete at two separate venues.
BMLAC had a representative team compete in the Victorian State Road Relay Championships at Sandown. The event provided an opportunity for Little Athletes to compete as part of a team, as well as being at the same venue as Athletics Victoria. The girls Under 11 team, consisting of Ava Conroy, Danielle Ide and Elise Cook each completed a 2km loop of the front straight of the race track. The girls placed 15th overall, finishing in a time of 27:04 mins (Ava 9:18, Danielle 9:03 and Elise 8:43).
Meanwhile, our weekly Cross Country meet was held locally at Rupert Moon Reserve, Bacchus Marsh. The Under 6 500 metre event saw Myah Estlick record a comfortable victory. In the Under 7 & 8 1000 metres Kai Cunningham crossed the line first with Nicholas Mai closely behind. The Under 9 & 10 athletes contested the 2000 metre event which saw Mitchell Wells continue his outstanding season claiming victory while Mackenzie Estlick was the first female home. Zane Rich was the winner in the Under 11 & 12 2000 metres with Tamara Henry the female winner. In the Open age 3000 metres event Riley Dart & Evana Miesen were the first male and females across the line.
Next Saturday’s home run will be held at Lady Northcote Camp, Rowsley commencing at 10.30am.
