Cross Country this week was held around the Market Garden Track at Rupert Vance Moon Reserve, Bacchus Marsh.  The icy cold winds and showers deterred many of our athletes, with only a small group of devoted athletes in attendance.  Well done to all those who braved the conditions, including our parents/helpers.

Myah Estlick was the sole competitor in the 1000 metre event. The Under 9 & 10 athletes competed over a 1500m distance with less than one second separating Riley Rodgers and Nicholas Ide while Mackenzie Estlick crossed the finish line first for the girls and Sarah Burton in 2nd place.  The Under 11 & 12 athletes tackled the 2000m course with Xavier Goodman and Elise Cook recording wins.  The Open age athletes covered 3km’s with Bridget Henthorn recording the fastest time and Zane Rich, running a big PB, crossing the finish line first for the boys.

Next week we will return to Lady Northcote Recreation Camp, Rowsley for our Cross Country meet.  Athletes are reminded that they must compete half of the available meets to qualify for awards which will be presented at the final Home Run/Presentation Day.
