The 2017-18 track and field season started on Saturday in perfect conditions at Masons Lane Reserve. This season the Centre is using a new barcode recording system for all track events, which certainly sped up the process at the finish line. The field events ran very smoothly thanks to our parents who volunteered to officiate, many for the first time.
Congratulations to Nelson Banigo (Eagles) who broke the first Centre record for the season, running 31.27 seconds in the Boys Under 9 200 metres.
Training will commence this Tuesday for all registered athletes. Training sessions will be conducted by our Education Officer, Annika Miesen from 5-6pm at Masons Lane Reserve.
Next Saturday will be our Official Opening with special guests, Life Members and Distinguish Service Members in attendance. Our 2017-18 Centre Captains will also be announced. Athletes are reminded to wear full uniform, this includes your Club Polo Shirt with Subway Registration Tag and plain black shorts. Athletes not wearing their Subway Registration Tag will not receive results.
A reminder to all Under 9-15 athletes interested in representing the Centre at Relays, are to submit their Relay Expression of Interest Form to their Team Manager by Saturday 21 October. Relay Interest Form 2017
