This week we celebrated our Personal Best achievements. All athletes who achieved a PB in an event were awarded a Little Athletics Victoria PB ribbon. In total 326 PB were recorded for the meet. Anna Seymour was this week’s PB Star of the Week with 6 PB’s.
Another 3 Centre records were broken this week. Nelson Banigo (Eagles) continues to improve on his times and today set new record times in the Under 9 70m and 100m events.
Nelson ran a blistering 100 metres setting the new record time at 13.81 secs. This time on grass is phenomenal and we can’t wait to see what he can produce on the synthetic track at next weekend’s Region Championships. Nelson also improved on his 70 metre record, recording a slick 10.14 secs. Shameka Grero set her first Centre record, throwing the Turbo Javelin 17.49 metres in the Under 10 event.
Next week’s meet will be a twilight meet on Friday commencing at 5pm due to the Region Championships to be held over the weekend.
Best of luck to the following athletes who will represent the Centre at the Western Metro Region Track & Field Championships at Williamstown – Nelson Banigo, Kirsty Bresnan, Elise Cook, Daphne Dillon, Kayla Downes, Mackenzie Estlick, Jack Flanagan, Shameka Grero, Xavier Goodman, Luatangi Haunga, Matai Haunga, Murphy Harrington, Freya Lidgett Egan, Ryan Lister, Alex Lloyd, Hayden Lloyd, Solomon Miesen, Temi Olaitan, Eliza Schembri.
