23 teams represented the Bacchus Marsh Centre at the Western Metro Region Relay Championships held at John Landy Athletics Field Geelong on Saturday.
The Relay Squad put in many hours of training leading up to the Championships and thanks must go to all coaches who volunteered their time to ensure our athletes were well prepared for the day.
Well done to all athletes who represented the Centre so proudly. It was great to see our kids enjoying the competition and many learning from their experience of competing at this level. Well done, we are very proud of your achievements.
The Boys Under 9 team claimed 3 silver medals, placing 2nd in the 4x100m, 4x200m and Medley relays. Meanwhile the Under 15 Girls won a silver medal in the 4x200m and bronze in the 4x100m while the Under 15 4x200m Mixed Sex team also claimed a bronze medal. The Under 12 Girls finished 3rd in the 4x200m while their Mixed Sex team won bronze medals in the 4x100m and 4x200m. The Under 10 girls also won a bronze medal in their 4x100m final.
All teams will now anxiously await progressions for the State Championships which should be available later in the week.
