What a remarkable Championship Day for BMLAC, a truly outstanding way to close out the season.
The day was a huge success, highlighted by an incredible 471 personal best performances across the day. On top of that, we saw 5 new Centre records set, showcasing the talent, determination and hard work of our athletes.
After equalling a long-standing record from 1990 in the Girls Under 11 200m last week, Tara Singh returned to make it her own, setting a new Centre record with a superb run of 29.47secs.
It was also fantastic to welcome Alexis Farrell back from injury and she certainly didn’t miss a beat, producing a massive PB of 11.54m in the Shot Put to break the Under 13 record previously held by Gabby Byrnes since 2012.
Our Under 17 boys finished their Little Athletics journey in style, adding another 3 Centre records to the day. Nicholas Ibrahim extended his Javelin record by over a metre, now standing at 38.80m. Caleb Hurst powered down the 100m straight to clock 11.80secs, while Troy Lee claimed the outright 110m Hurdles record in a blistering 16.85secs after previously sharing it with teammate Nick Ide.
An incredible day filled with achievements, memories and performances to be proud of.
