What an incredible day of cross country at the Western Metro Region Cross Country Carnival held at Bacchus Marsh Grammar – Staughton Vale Campus.
Firstly, congratulations to every Bacchus Marsh athlete who represented our Centre. You should all be extremely proud of your performances. The challenging course, with its gruelling hill climbs and demanding terrain, tested every athlete. Every runner gave their best effort and it was fantastic to see so many athletes push themselves right through to the finish line.
A huge congratulations to all of our athletes who have now qualified for the State Cross Country Championships, to be held on Saturday 15th August at Lake Dewar. We wish you all the very best as you prepare to compete against Victoria’s best cross country little athletes.
A sincere thank you to all of our parents who willingly carried out their allocated duties throughout the day. Whether you were course marshalling, helping in the canteen or assisting in other roles, your support ensured the carnival ran smoothly and safely for every athlete.
A very special thank you goes to our wonderful canteen volunteers, led by our new Canteen Manager, Julie Robinson. Your hard work throughout the day ensured athletes, officials, volunteers and spectators were well fed and we greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into providing such a fantastic service.
Thank you also to Jo Johansen, who is in her first season as our Special Competition Manager. Jo did a wonderful job ensuring our athletes were looked after, organised and ready to marshal for each of their races.
A big thank you to Trent Medcraft, also in his first season as our Officials Coordinator. Trent was quietly working behind the scenes, ensuring parents were in the right positions as course marshals and canteen helpers throughout the carnival.
We would also like to thank everyone who assisted with transporting equipment to and from Staughton Vale, as well as those who stayed behind at the end of the day to help pack everything away.
Finally, a huge thank you to the Western Metro Region Committee and all of the Region Centres whose volunteers contributed to the planning and delivery of another outstanding Regional Cross Country Carnival.
We now look forward to cheering on our State Championship qualifiers at Lake Dewar on Saturday 15th August.
