Well done to all Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics athletes who represented our Centre with pride at the 2026 State Cross Country Championships at Lake Dewar.
We are incredibly proud of the wonderful results achieved by our athletes, but even more proud of the sportsmanship, encouragement and support they displayed throughout the day.
Congratulations to Jujhar Singh Tamber on winning the Under 17 Silver medal. Jujhar ran a well controlled 3km race, staying composed throughout before the race came down to an incredible sprint to the finish line. In a thrilling finish, a perfectly timed dip on the line saw Jujhar claim second place and the State Silver Medal.
It was a fantastic way to finish his Little Athletics career. Jujhar has enjoyed a wonderful athletics journey, representing Melton Little Athletics Centre before joining Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics Centre this season. It has been fantastic to have you as part of the BMLAC family, Jujhar and to see you finish your Little Aths journey on a high. We wish you all the very best for the future and sincerely hope to see you continue your athletics journey into Senior Athletics.
Congratulations also to Thomas Ibrahim on an outstanding 4th place finish in the Boys Under 15 3km event. In an incredibly tight finish, less than four seconds separated the top four athletes, making Thomas’ performance even more impressive. Thomas ran an outstanding race and should be extremely proud of his effort. It was a well-executed race and Thomas wasn’t afraid to put himself out there and race with confidence right to the finish. His hard work throughout this Cross Country season has certainly paid off, with fantastic improvement over the past few months. It has been great to watch Thomas develop, build his confidence and continue to challenge himself. We’re looking forward to seeing Thomas carry this momentum into the track & field season and continue to grow as an athlete.
A very special thank you to our Team Manager, Johanna Johansen who did an amazing job ensuring all of our athletes were prepared, organised and marshalled ready for their races.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to every volunteer who gave up their time to help at the BBQ. From those who worked the entire day to those who completed their allocated duty – every bit of help was greatly appreciated. A very special thank you to Julie & Asha, who took the lead and accepted the opportunity to run this fundraiser on behalf of BMLAC. The hours of work, planning and preparation that went into the day did not go unnoticed. And a huge thank you to Bernie & Tom, who worked on the BBQ for the entire day. You certainly kept the troops well fed.
We also want to acknowledge everyone who put in the hours before the event, helping with preparation, organising supplies and getting everything ready. Fundraisers like this involve so much work behind the scenes and we are incredibly grateful for the commitment of everyone involved.
This was another hugely successful fundraiser for our Centre.
