What a fantastic way to launch our season on Saturday morning. The sun was shining, conditions were perfect and the energy around the track and field was electric. With over 200 registered members and almost 50 trial athletes, it was a busy but exciting start.
A massive thank you to everyone for your patience on Day 1. As you can imagine, welcoming so many new faces takes time, but our program will continue to run smoother each week as athletes and families settle in.
Thank you to our amazing parents who stepped up to officiate events – we couldn’t do this without you. Being a volunteer-run Centre, your help is vital. To keep the program running on time, we need to make sure all events are set up and ready to go, including:
2 Shot Put pits, 2 Discus rings, 3 High Jump areas – as well as our regular long & triple jump pits and javelin.
This helps us avoid delays and ensures we can finish by 12pm each week.
Our senior boys lit up the track and field with 5 new Centre Records on Day 1, while plenty of athletes returned from events buzzing with excitement. Many kids have worked hard over the off-season and with several already close to record-breaking form, we’re set for an incredible season ahead. Well done to all our newcomers who had their first taste of little athletics, we can’t wait to see you progress.

The grounds looked fantastic on Saturday with our Platinum Sponsor flags proudly on display. A big thank you to Autobeats – Repco Authorised Service, Taco Bill Bacchus Marsh, Back In Motion Bacchus Marsh, New Divide HVAC Group and Michaela Settle MP for your incredible support. Our Exclusive sponsor, Crossroads Trading bright signage around Crossroads Canteen also added to the welcoming atmosphere and created a vibrant setting for our first day back. Our canteen volunteers were kept extremely busy all morning – keep supporting one of our Centre’s major fundraisers.
The front of the Pat Lane Pavilion also looked terrific, showcasing our Gold, Silver & Bronze sponsor corflute signage. This colourful display not only brightened up the pavilion but also highlighted the wonderful support of our local businesses.
The Bald Barista – Mobile Coffee was a hit with their coffees, iced drinks and delicious flavours – the perfect refresher on a warm day.
Next week marks our Official Season Opening, including the announcement of our 2025/26 Centre Captains before competition begins.
