Little Athletics returned to Masons Lane Reserve on Saturday morning for the Centre’s second half of the season.

Conditions were perfect for racing and many personal best results were recorded on the track.  Nelson Banigo was the standout performer for the meet, setting the track on fire in the Boys Under 13 200 metres event.   Nelson slashed almost a second off the previous record, set in 2010, running a new record time of 24.90 seconds.

Darley Bakehouse Stars of the Week were awarded to Atlas Ferreira and David Elefterescu with both boys recording 5 PB’s for the meet.

Next weekend eight athletes will be representing the Centre at the State Combined Event Championships to be held at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park.  Good luck to Skyla Berryman, David Elefterescu, Matthew Elefterescu, Mackenzie Estlick, Myah Estlick, Harrison Lovett, Patrick Lovett and Emma Stewart.  Program 2 will be conducted for all other BMLAC athletes at Masons Lane Reserve.

Training will recommence this Thursday.  Under 6-9 athletes will start at 4.30pm and Under 10-16 athletes from 5pm.
