The 2025 Western Metro Region Cross-Country Carnival is an Individual Cross-Country event that also serves as a qualifying event for the 2025 State Cross-Country Championships held at Lake Dewar.

Although it is an Individual event, there is a Teams element. The Teams event will be conducted concurrently with the Individual event and is based on the results of the first 3 athletes from each Centre across the line. Where a Centre has more than 3 participants in an event, each subsequent set of 3 athletes will constitute another team from that Centre. Under no circumstances can a team consist of 4 members.

In order to participate at the State Championships, the entrant must have ‘Competed and completed’ the relevant event at the Region Cross-Country Carnival (* as per Competition Regulation – Rule 602: Participation requirements for Region & State Competitions).
